Johnnyswim - "Christmas Day"
Johnnyswim is an American folk, soul, blues, pop music duo, consisting of singer-songwriters Amanda Sudano, who is the daughter of the late Donna Summer, and Abner Ramirez. The duo formed in 2005 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. There music is soft, well harmonied, and beautifully written. Their songs always inspire an earthy richness that makes you feel warm inside. Her velvet vocals and his husky warm sound are very complimentary, and can’t help but put a smile on your face.
This little ditty is from the only Christmas album I bought last year. I only allow myself one purchase per year, so as to be able to listen to all the holiday music I have in the month, and this was last year’s pick! I love the idea of newer holiday songs coming out and becoming traditions. While I can’t say that everyone will know this song, I can say that I think everyone should. It’s not just about the day of Christmas, it’s about keeping the warmth of that day’s feeling all year long. Something that might actually be exactly what this angry world needs at the moment.
So today, with warmth in my heart, I choose Johnnyswim’s “Christmas Day” as my, hold on to the feeling, never let the memories go, squeeze them tight each chance you get, song for a, make memories to last, let me not forget, be the joy in someone’s day, Friday.
