Peter, Paul, & Mary - "Leaving On A Jet Plane"

This turned out to be Peter, Paul and Mary's biggest (and final) hit, becoming their only No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. The song also spent three weeks atop the easy listening chart and was used in commercials for United Airlines in the late 1970s. The song also topped the charts in Canada, and reached No. 2 in both the UK Singles Chart and Irish Singles Chart in February 1970.

It is very apt today, as I leave Asia and head home. I'm sad and excited all at once. After 2 weeks away and countless adventures, the idea of home and the familiar is a very welcome one.

So today, with silver wings and sliding doors, I choose Peter, Paul, & Mary's "Leaving On A Jet Plane" as my, new adventures, just around the corner, the strange familiar, song for a, when the north wind calls, red scarves in the wind, bags and memories packed to bursting Wednesday.
