Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová - "Falling Slowly"
I feel like people often forget about the stripped down beauty of the Oscar winning music from “Once”. It was a whisper in a crowded room the shocked the world into silence. The sheer raw emotion calls out to the listeners like a desperate plea, and it shocks you with it’s honesty.
I woke up with this song on repeat in my head. This pure heartbreak flowing around these hopeful words. Like the bravest little toaster, or the little engine that could, this song plugs away hoping that it’s little boat will make it to shore before it sinks.
So today, with heartbreak in hand, I choose Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová’s "Falling Slowly" as my, broken little wings, you may have fallen but you flew for a moment, with understanding crashing down around you, song for a, dust yourself off, get back up off the floor, grace is not about how many times you fall but about how your rise when you do, Monday.
