Reid Lee - "Over You (feat. Mark Cramer)"

This song was a labor of love. After going through some heartbreak and falling in love with Ingrid Michaelson's version of this song, I asked one of my best friends, Mark Cramer, to sing it with me. I knew Mark's voice would fit perfectly with this sound, and he does an incredible job ... I mean listen to him and try not to swoon!

With the help of Craig Hendry, an amazing pianist and vocalist himself (listen for his background vocals) we made something that feels truly magical. With soft harmonies and a delicate vocal balance this is an acoustic version homage to Ingrid Michaelson's original featuring A Great Big World.

This is also the first time I've ever posted a S.O.T.D. that I'm singing on, so please be kind.

Trisha Yearwood - "When We Were Still In Love"

She’s a platinum-selling, multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award winning vocalist with one of the most powerful voices in country music. From the moment her very first single debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart (“She’s In Love With The Boy” in 1991), she has charmed audiences with her warmth, wit and honesty. From selecting the songs that move her, to determining how she was “packaged” by the music industry, she has graciously but firmly stood her ground.  As a singer, Trisha is a world-class interpreter of emotion, and that is something that I admire greatly. 

She was once called "The Greatest Voice in Country Music" and that is something I believe to be true, at least for her generation of country music singer. She never has ventured far from her genre, but it just goes to prove the old adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I hope she never does.
