Jewel - "Deep Water"

My long standing love affair with Jewel Kilcher is much documented. She was the first voice that I was made aware of that was different than what I’d grown up listening to. She shifted my landscape and for that I will always be grateful.

She found something really honest and magical in that moment in the 90s and I still go back to those songs sometimes, in times of struggle or strife, and remind myself that “this too shall pass” or in her words “everything fades and falls away”.

So today, with water rising faster than I can bail, I choose Jewel’s "Deep Water" as my, shore yourself for the storm, brace for the waves, point yourself into the wind, song for a, love will be your lantern, let yourself see the bigger picture, you might just be struggling with the riptide and missing the calmer ocean, Thursday.
