Alexander Borodin - "In The Steppes of Central Asia"
A master of taking folk music and creating lush symphonies and operas out of it, Alexander Borodin was a Chemist by trade and I can only imagine what would have happened should he have had the time or ability to fully step into composing.
This tune, which I’ve only recently just heard is thought of as a “Symphonic Poem” and it is exactly that. He takes sounds and light and creates a story and a picture that you can’t help but see.
So today, with dreams on the horizon, I choose Alexander Borodin’s "In The Steppes of Central Asia" as my, caravan of love, a thousand tiny horses, jingling all the way, song for a, breeze off the plains, songs we have always sung, memories passed down through love, Monday.
